Bonjour! Welcome to Le Petit Château. Today I am sharing the most delicious French Style Cheesecake! Totally irresistible. A beautiful baked cheesecake with the tart like base as it was back in history ( as opposed to the biscuit crumb base we are mostly familiar with). This superbly balanced flavour enriched with a touch of Cointreau brings joy to your tastebuds!! We absolutely love this one.
I make it quite rustic looking as I am short on time, but you certainly can make this into a spectacular eye catching dessert by refining the base casing and garnish of course. We like it in our home style rustic appearance when it’s just for us. But this cheesecake is a winner for your guests! Happy baking my friends and family xxx I hope you love it!!

The ingredients you will need:

BASE STAGE 1
200g butter softened
100g castor sugar
1 egg
300g plain flour

FILLING Stage 2
500g or 2 pkts cream cheese
4 eggs
1 tsp orange zest
1 1/2 TBSP COINTREAU
1 cup castor sugar
1 tsp plain flour
1 cup heavy / thickened cream

Overall bake 45-50mins 180deg
Allow time for refrigeration

Best made in advance due to refrigeration time
