Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the Kyle Rittenhouse case is an example of how race politics is “destroying justice and truth”.

Kyle Rittenhouse is accused of killing Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, as well as wounding Gaige Grosskreutz with an assault-style rifle during a protest on August 25th, 2020.

Mr Bolt said early on much of the American media painted Mr Rittenhouse as “some sort of white nationalist looking for trouble”.

“But now we’ve had the trial, heard the evidence … and the evidence shows to me and to many others that in fact Rittenhouse was framed, he was scapegoated,” he said.

Mr Bolt argued the evidence suggested Mr Rittenhouse acted in self-defence.

“All three people he shot were people who chased him or threatened him, held a gun to his head, and they were all white.

“Where’s the racist angle in this? In fact, there was no evidence in this trail that Rittenhouse was a racist or a white nationalist or a white supremacist.”

Mr Bolt discussed the issue with Sky News Washington correspondent Annelise Nielsen. Rittenhouse case illustrates how race politics is ‘destroying justice and truth’
